February’s snow moon makes this month the perfect time to develop that brighter outlook you might be striving for. According to astrologer Rebecca Moore of We Love Horoscope, “ The snow moon is full of staggering spiritual revelation and purpose. It signifies renewal in the spirit…It’s about new dreams and overcoming past hurts, forging forward with greater sense of purpose.”
Let’s be honest, forging forward sounds like a lot of work. But by utilizing the attitudes from the law of attraction, the energy you put into that work will come right back to you.
Here are some rituals to help you reset and re-evaluate how you can use the power of the snow moon to step into your own power.
A Moment For Mindfulness ✨
It’s important to be proud of yourself for everything you have gone through. Be it your successes or failures, we often forget to acknowledge our past self and all they did to get us to where we are today. A little reflecting ritual could be:
Journaling
Writing a letter to yourself
Taking a relaxing bath and reflecting
Mediating
Relaxing to your favorite songs from this past year
Any small moment you can take for yourself is a moment well spent.
Setting An Achievable Intention ✨
When setting your goal, try to identify something realistic for making changes. Otherwise you may feel overwhelmed if your intentions are too strict or your expectations are too high. Let's practice setting an intention that is specific while not setting yourself up for failure.
Set your intention
Instead of setting a number of times a week you’d like to see yourself do a certain thing, maybe try something more attitude or idea based.
Example: I’d like to be kinder to myself.
Setting achievable markers for your intention
Now that you’ve identified your intention, let’s explore how you can recognize you’re reaching that goal by breaking it down into smaller markers to show your success. You can try setting 2-3 weekly objectives to help you work towards your main intention.
Here are a couple examples:
I didn’t entertain my intrusive negative thoughts.
I didn’t put myself down out loud in front of others.
I treated myself to something nice this week.
Setting an intention as big as being nicer to yourself can seem insurmountable. But when you outline weekly objectives it can help you find new skills to work towards your main intention.
Like in the example above, if you are struggling to shut down your intrusive negative thoughts, you can specifically look into skills to work on that. One way is everytime you think something negative about yourself, you have to list 5 positives in its place. If you need more of a brain reset than that, you can use the 5,4,3,2,1 method. Take a breath and then say 5 things you can see, 4 things you can touch, 3 things you can hear, 2 things you can smell, and 1 thing you can taste. By giving yourself a reset you’ll find that you’ve shut down that negative thought and can now start entertaining more positivity in your mind.
You are totally capable of putting out the energy you want to receive. Always remember, don’t change to be accepted by others. True and fulfilling change can only occur when you are doing it for yourself. Stay weird, stay powerful, stay YOU! 💙
