For those of you that don't know, my name is Chelsea Mahala. And I have been a hairstylist for 7 years now and counting. I absolutely love the art that I get to create within hair and the relationships that I get to build. This is such an amazing career that I am so grateful to have.

And I want to thank you most of all for making this possible. Without you and your support, I wouldn't be where I am today.

THANK YOU

Something you may not know about me... I have been a dancer my whole life. Movement is so important to me and my mental wellness. Which is why I am doing a shift within my life and career.

No, I am not leaving the beauty industry, but I do want to bend it to fit my life style a little bit more.... There's always been that thought in the back of my mind that I don't really belong... I never really have my whole life and I have learned to love and thrive.

I strongly believe that when we look good, we feel good. And when we take care of ourselves we feel so much better.

Our bodies and how we take care of them is such an important part of this life, that can easily get missed or forgotten.

I want to cut the out the bullshit. I have never been the stylist to tell you what to do with your hair because of how your face is shaped, or what color to do because of your complexion. I've tried to dabble in it... I've put in the time to learn, but it never felt right..... I always felt icky.

To conform to these things is putting you in the box that society deems as "important" or "perfect". But I would rather you do what makes you happy.

If short hair looks "best" on your face shape, but you love having long hair..... do you really want to cut your hair short? No? Then don't do it!

I digress...

The big shift that I am wanting to do within my career is to add health and wellness into the mix of beauty.

I am training in a few things at the moment.

Breath Work

Science of Stretching

Aerial Yoga

Yoga

And will be offering these services in the future. It is very important that we take care of ourselves, not only in the beauty aspect of our hair healthy and happy.... But also our bodies. Taking the time to move them and stretch. Taking the moment to breath and really pay attention to how you are feeling and doing. This world is crazy and super fast paced.... It's time to slow down and really check in with ourselves.

How are you taking care of yourself on a day to day basis?
