Short Answer: Dirty: If you have a lightening service that we will be applying right onto your scalp. Clean: Any other service. Long Answer: There is the big rumor that dirty hair holds onto the color better. So you don’t want to wash your hair right before getting your hair colored…. T
his, however my friend, isn’t true.
And if you really think about it…. it doesn’t fully make sense… Why would having an extra layer around your hair make the color stick better? It just means that the color has to work harder to do it’s job. The color, if using permanent color, will be going into the strand of hair not just sit on the outside.
Does having dirty hair hinder the color?
Not necessary… But at the same time it is not helping either. The color is strong enough that it will eat through some product as well as the natural oils from your head, however, imagine if the color didn’t have to fight through anything.
Having clean hair will allow the color to be the most predictable. More predictable color, means that we will be able to achieve the color of yours dreams faster and easier.
